This piano

Piano type

Sets the starting estimate of string stiffness (inharmonicity), which shapes how much the octaves are stretched. Measuring a few notes refines it for this piano.

Pitch (A4)

Measured notes

For the best curve, measure about 4 notes spread across the keyboard (e.g. A1, F3, C5, C7): select the note, press Measure, and play it firmly while letting it ring.

Session

Start new tuning clears the keyboard's progress dots but keeps this piano's measurements, so a returning client's curve is ready to go.

Display

In-tune window

How close counts as in tune: the wheel turns green, the reading says "In tune" and the key gets a green dot. Use ±0.5¢ for fine finishing work, ±2–3¢ for a quick pitch raise.

Backup

Client pianos are stored only on this device. Export now and then (e.g. to Files or iCloud Drive) so you can restore them on a new phone.

Plays a simulated, slightly out-of-tune piano string that drifts into tune, so you can try out the display.
